Life isn’t a well planned out plot that we meticulously play out. It’s a mosaic of moments, splendidly imperfect and gloriously messy.
Finding myself in the midst of a story unfolding feels equally risky and hopeful. I don’t know the long-term plan yet. But I do know the very next step, So that is where I start. I’m practicing the Art of Not Having It Figured Out.
I wanted to share the framework that I use to help me look back and look ahead. It’s not really a formula for a New Year’s Resolution, but some open-ended questions to get you thinking. I hope it is a catalyst to help you claim more abundance in your life.
What if our need to be understood actually keeps us from being known?
My default setting is to be agreeable. But this past week, my patterns of privileged complacency and fear-based silence were exposed. I was reminded that the world doesn’t need an Agreeable Allie. It does need a Wholehearted Allie.
We all have our moments of coming face to face with our smallness. But everything—our happiness, our ability to make good work, our wholeness depends on how we respond to these doubts.
